Roadtrip to Kuala Lumpur

Since we were already in Singapore, and we're a few hours away from Malaysia, we planned of dropping by Kuala Lumpur to have a view of the famous twin towers.

We left Singapore at past 11pm, pass through the Malaysian border and rode a bus via Johor Bahru bound to Puduraya, Kuala Lumpur. We arrived in KL as early as 4am, exchange SGDs to Malaysian Ringgits and had our breakfast in McDonalds Fastfood Resto.

My impressions of downtown KL? uhmm..dirty surroundings, foul smelling comfort rooms, spicy foods, not so very nice taxi drivers and the local people do not speak nor understand basic English! I really did not like that idea! The only psychadelic thing I saw in this place is the PETRONAS TWIN TOWERS.

Here are our photos:
Downtown Puduraya
We're now standing at the KLCC Park, this area is good for morning joggers because of its spacious running and walking paths, it has water fountains..usually works in the afternoon and a long wading pool for children.
The tallest twin structure in the world..looking at the structure very carefully, one can imagine two people walking hands and never letting go..how romantic!

I hope I could see the structure at night..people said they are sparkling at night time

This is from the skybridge, 41st floor of the towers..you can see the panoramic view of the KL city from above

 At Suria KLCC

Behind the Suria KLCC, we found this clean garden with a mini lake..at least there are still clean places left in the city haha!
Suria KLCC Park....just right in front of the twin towers
 entrance to Petronas Twin towers
We lined up as early as 6am to have a guaranteed spot to visit the 41st floor skybridge since only 900 visitors are allowed each day. The tour in the Skybridge and observation deck takes about 45 minutes.

At the observation deck..it's like walking around a Science Centrum,,everything is high-tech!

Come late afternoon, we headed back to the Puduraya Bus terminal for a ride back to Singapore. It was really not a satisfying day trip but it's worth all the experience. I'm going back next time to explore other places in this country..I've only been to one small part of Malaysia, maybe there are a lot more places to see which will definitely change my bad impressions. Everybody deserves a second chance anyway: )

A Week in Singapore

My very first time to go out of country!

Upon learning the promo fair from Cebu Pacific, without 2nd thought, I booked a trip to Singapore for me, mom and my sister. We really don't have to worry on the accommodation because our first cousin is a permanent resident in Singapore. Further tasks to be done...get a passport, save pocket money, shop for clothes and local delicacies for pasalubong abroad.

Departure Day
Because my sister and I were so excited (mom's flight to SG was 2 days ahead of us), we went to the airport (NAIA Terminal 3) 4 hours ahead of our flight time..hihihi! Though it's our first time for an international trip, we managed every airport process smoothly because I researched everything from the net (from paying the travel tax, checking in for the boarding pass, filling up the departure card needed to pass the immigration line and boarding our plane).

When our plane announced its arrival in Singapore, we really don't know what to do next. So we just follow the other passengers until we reached the lobby of Singapore Budget Terminal...people lined up to the Money Exchange Counter, so we lined up too. hahaha!

I collected tourist maps and information catalogues I found at the counter of the lobby while we were waiting for our cousin to fetch us up. And then we drop by Changi Airport to have some pics.

Singapore Tour

I researched a bit of Singapore and here's what I found. It is a Southeast-Asian city-state at the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula. If you attempt to see the map, Singapore is a very small nation with a population reaching 5 million, but a highly urbanized one. My cousin told us that more land are currently being developed through land reclamation. They have a parliamentary system of government and discipline in every citizen is obviously evident based on my impression as a first time visitor.

Places we visited:
Marina Bay, Clarke Quay, Sentosa Island, Vivo City, Novena Church, Orchard Road and Little India

I saw these people having fun with the trolleys at Sentosa Island
 Imbiah Walk
The Giant Merlion..the weather is cloudy and so the light is a bit gloomy
 At Siloso Beach..
I believe this beach is named "Palawan Beach"..wow we're just like in the Philippines right now.

Vivo City at night, we shopped for a few souvenirs
We made last minute shopping at Takashimaya along Orchard Road
Dropped by Little India and bought some stuff at Mustafa Center
Raffles St. at night

While we were in Marina Bay, we saw this huge construction site across the river that is being established for the upcoming Universal Studios in Singapore.

So I told myself, three years from now, I will definitely go back to see what that place has to offer!
