Day 2: Batu Caves, Bejaya Times Square and KL Heritage Walk
Since we woke up a little bit late on the 2nd day, we reached Batu Caves from KL Station Monorail (there's a connecting bridge from Pasar Seni LRT station going to the KTM Komuter Train- KL station) at about 9:30am. We alighted at Batu Caves station and from there we walked to our destination.
And since it was a weekday and it was not a day of obligation for the Hindus, there were a few tourists and worshipers found at the temples so we had the time of our lives taking as much souvenir photos as we want.
the insides of the KTM Komuter
first Hindu icon we found beside the entrance gate
food from hawker stalls found along the walkway to the temples..
fascinated by these doves littering on the ground
Walking up that heightened stairs is serious business..really! Took us about 15 minutes to reach the insides of the cave only to find trite Hindu temples with monkeys roaming all over the place.
It's worth going though...this was the first temple I saw inside a cave atop a mountain like this. Sadly the place was not well-maintained, trash can be found all over the place and the smell of the surroundings was not really tourist-friendly.

see the Batu Cave monorail station?
Immediately, we took the next KTM Komuter to KL Sentral, walk a little further to KL Sentral Monorail station and alighted in Imbi station just fronting the Berjaya Times Square. We were actually in a hurry to buy a day pass to Colmar Tropicale (which is located on the 8th floor, only to find out that the day pass tickets were already sold out for the day so we just opted to take a sumptuous lunch at Vivo City and splurge on food instead.
due to disappointment, I opted to pose on this life-size poster of Colmar Tropicale haha!
splurge more on crispy krepes
sweeth tooth am I..
At the back of my mind, I was really disappointed to have missed the Colmar Tropicale tour. Back in the Philippines I've been wanting to go to this place and experience little Europe as most reviewers/bloggers said. Nevertheless, we had to have another plan and so we continued spending the rest of the day by taking a heritage walk in the center of KL government, the Merdeka Square. From Berjaya Times we took the Monorail back to KL Sentral switch to LRT line and took the next train to Masjid Jamek station. From there, we walk through until we reach the Merdeka Square
Before heading back to our hostel, we bought tickets at Pudu Sentral (buses bound to north are found at the 2nd floor) for the next day's earliest bus trip to Tanah Rata, Cameron Highlands through the Unititi Express. End of day 2.
