KILTEPAN PEAK, BOMOD'OK FALLS AND ECHO VALLEY TOUR
Early rise and freezing shine!
We woke up the next day so freezing cold!! And we got to rise as early as 4am to climb up the Kiltepan Peak and witness the one-of-a-kind sunrise in the mountain.
The sleep heads with their thick sleeping mats..we can't think of any word to say except for COLD!!!
Had some hot coffee, hotness of which lasts only about 5 minutes so I have to drink fast!
Off to kiltepan peak..
Here are the pics of the sunrise experience on the highest mountain of the Sagada mountain province..what a heavenly view..!
it's the sunrise happening right there!
I got to have this shot in this very view! hahah!
with friends and we're all smiling faces..see? haha!
This place reminds me of the movie Twilight...tall branches of trees, the clouds, the fog, the temperature..the Twilight producers must see this place, It's better than Forks I think..hehe!
Took our breakfast at Salt and Pepper Restaurant and their fried brown rice are superb!
The rest of the day is a trekking adventure to Bomod-ok Falls and the Echo Valley tour..it's a whole day of walking, walking and walking..
Downtown Sagada preparing for the Bomod-ok Falls trek
walking through these terraces is a different experience for me..old folks say that the way to heaven is a rough and hard way..so it's like traversing heaven for the first time..
We only saw a few villager's home along the way
got to take some few rest with a few snap!
we are still trekking..for an hour I think..hmmm, where the heck is the falls?
I think we're near..we can feel the wind and we can hear the flowing water..
and here we are at last! the tallest falls I've ever seen so far..woah!!! that should take your breath away...!!!
this very portrait shot is what I should never miss:=)
I sat on a huge standing rock to take a good shot of this magnificent falls
they call this smaller falls the Bokong Falls..isn't it interesting? hehe!
Going back..still the way it was
I got so tired and I consumed about 3 or more bottles of water and C2 to regain my dehydration from all the walking we did..
We went back downtown to have lunch (this time it's a super heavy lunch!) and rest for a very short time before heading for our next itinerary..the Echo Valley tour.
It's market day in Sagada downtown..at least we see many people outside this time
We ate at the Yoghurt House, they serve mostly Caucasian and Italian dishes, and they are famous for their fresh yummy yoghurt on the house.
as usual, I ordered my favorite pasta, toast and chicken meal
the SAGGAs quarters
We're on our Echo Valley Tour. Starting from the town's Tourist Center..along the way we found the old Episcopal church and a huge bell that is standing there as early as 1921.
We passed by this cemetery with a very conspicious view of the graves. Our tour guide said that this is the graveyard of the villagers and of the World War Veterans in Sagada. Nice landscape there..
Standing now in the hillside of the Echo Valley..now SHOUT OUT LOUD! and you'll gonna hear your voice echoing from the other side of the hill..AMAZING!! that's why it's called the ECHO VALLEY...!
this whole thing gets a little more tiring....don't hesitate to sit down for a rest because this is not yet the end of the rough trek.
Wasting time is not our motto..so we continued with the trek...and here's where we found ourselves in...
....the HANGING COFFINS
To give our due respect, we offered prayers for our ancestors who dwelt their bereived bodies here and then we went back from where we came from..
At the right side is the Episcopal Church, built way back from the colonial time of the Americans in the country..if I hear it right?
Then we stand by this hill and watch the sun set..
I forgot the name of this lake, but I remember I last saw this in the movie starred by Juday and Piolo Pascual..Til There was You..ahhhaha!
Give it up for our last jump at Sagada, Benguet..the town that captured my heart. I will definitely go back...this is a promise!
Happy Trip!
