Manila Oceanpark

I had a fishy Sunday sometime in December 2011! After attending the Sunday mass from St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Mandaluyong City, had lunch at Shangri La Plaza food court and incidentally thought of unwinding at Manila Ocean Park.

Rode a cab from Shangri-la to Manila Ocean Park which costs me about 150php, no traffic since it was Sunday, arrived at the park at about 12noon and was surprised to see the long queue of people at the ticketing booths.
Bought tickets for the oceanarium, penguin viewing and snow village package that cost about P488 each.

Exploring different species of fish inside the huge underwater world

"Laot" means a place in the middle of the ocean, in this portion you will see variety of species that dwells far out in the open sea.
I was really awed by this huge aquarium with lots of white huge fish which I forgot the name!:-)

..what you looking at?!?

Entering "Buhay na Karagatan"..seems like you're under the water world! It's dark inside and fishes of different kinds and sizes swam around and atop..
The spacious oceanarium exhibits different kinds of water species that is really a place for people who loves the ocean, loves the fish and is thinking fishy too, I guess? haha!

Aquanaut dive experience..guests can have a close encounter with the water species. I didn't try this coz it costs about 1k for a limited hour only..I would just have to try helmet diving if I ever go to Boracay to experience the real encounter with the fish in the real ocean.

"Ang Kalaliman"..the deepest of the sea, if I translated it right. I love this part the most..coz the darkness and the dim lights made the water species a spectacular view!

Then the haven of "pating"..these young sharks were sleeping when we arrived. No matter what guests do, they don't move...I almost thought they weren't real.

After exiting the oceanarium..I made a little breathe of not so fresh air beside the docking area overlooking the sea.
The water lilies are really not a good sight here..

Then head on to the trails of Antartica..which was quite disappointing. Waited a long queue for about 3 hours just to enter the room where the penguins show was supposed to be seen and the snow village, both are new attractions at the park.

And here's what we have just seen..a large cabin decorated with fictitious snow with little baby penguins standing and swimming..

Then we entered the most awaited snow village..which turned out a big disappointment! It's just the size of my room in our apartment! but I enjoyed it though, since it's not typical in the Philippines to experience snow once in a while:-)

We can't make clear photos inside because of the snow and fog..

And that ends the fishy day at 7pm..ate at Pancake House before going home sweet home..

Happy Trip!
